Day 5 filming

Day 5 of filming saw us going back to the area where we started the whole making of the music video process. When we visited the first time we planned on using the area that we used for this shot, however there were some complications as to why we couldn't get to this specific area.
We filmed all the remaining footage here on day 5 of filming, where we made the most of having the area all to ourselves.

Tour Poster

Here is the tour poster that was produced. On here as you can see it has all the dates where James Couleur is performing and the venues.

First initial draft- Back cover of digipack

Here is the first draft of the back cover of our digipack. Its a very simple idea however as I've said its a draft. There are lots more changes and improvements to be made to it but this is a start. We are wanting to get 4 different images of James Couleur facing different directions.
Here is the first draft...

Peer feedback on Websites

James Couleur:

Here is the feedback that was given to us all about our website.
WWW - great idea to have a pop up as soon as you go on the website, good promotion skills. The merchandise page in particular is very strong
EBI - some of the pages have basically one sentence of information on them (maybe they aren't finished???) Not too sure about the background and text, does it fit with James Couleur's image?
James Couleur: I like how the genre of music, indie, works well with the websites design and all of the images that have been taken. Although the pop up as you first enter the site is annoying, it is a good promotional strategy to get more people to like your page. The merchandise looks very professional and is not too much, it isn't too much for the fans to wear. To improve add links to the social media sites so fans can gain easier access. Not sure if some of the pages are unfinished but a lot of them look empty.
· Wording makes it seem as though it isn't run by Couleur. Say 'follow me' instead of 'follow us' etc.
· Pop ups are annoying
· Home page has very little content
· Sophisticated layout
WWW - Professional looking website, colour scheme, font, and background constant throughout, and fits within conventions.
EBI - Some of the pages have one sentence of information on them, are they finished
· WWW - The big photo on the homepage looks really cool and I love the integration with Twitter. Gallery includes lots of photos which is really good! Merchandise is cool too. The website fits the artists' genre and style.
· EBI - Tour dates need to be added.

James Couleur’s website is good however it’s really only the homepage that is completed. The other web pages are completely unfinished as there is no content on them whatsoever. However their theme is concurrent throughout the entire website which is by far the website’s best trait
Although this website has alot of images and merchandise it is extremely unfinished. What they have so far seems okay but there is so much that has not been done that it is very hard to analyse what isn't there. I do like the layout on the homepage and also the twitter feed down the side. This means people do not have to actually go on their twitter to keep up to date with him, I think it would look nice if they had a few edited photographs that are made to look like a professional photoshoot. They have also added a direct link to the blog which helps show the influence behind everything.

I think this website will be good when it is finished as what has been done is very good and of high quality. There are some high quality sections such as the merchandise but other parts that need to be finished. I think there needs to be more content as there isn’t much information about the artist which the fans may want to know. The fans would however appreciate the gallery as it has many pictures that have been planned and look professional.

what went well - the background picture is very creative and fits well with the layout. the live twitter feed is a very good idea and keeps fans up to date. the gallery is chock full of pictures which is brilliant. the merchandise is my favourite out of everyone's - very creative and clever.
even better if - there's a lot missing e.g. the teaser trailer isn't on the front page where it says it will be and the album and tour pages are empty.

Peer Website Evaluation

Evaluations
1) GRACE STARR
Websitehttp://www.gracestarr.wix.com/gracestarr
I feel that after reviewing this website there is very little weaknesses that I can pull out. I feel that they have gone above and beyond, and put in huge amounts of time to it. They have a great gallery with all the latest pictures uploaded, along with fine attention to detail. An example of this is taking pictures of Grace Starr (Charlotte) in the gym and saying how 'Grace Starr' has been seen in the gym, going down as section in their Press column. All this and more like teaser music videos makes the website great. Also the layout they used, has matched their artist.

2) Nicholas Alexander
Website: http://www.nicholas-alexander.wix.com/realna
What I like about this website is the layout that they have used. The background I think looks great and the home page of the website is a real strength, the album front cover and also Nicholas Alexander's interview with BBC Radio 1. The areas that could be improved are some of the photos in the gallery, they don't seem to be the best quality, and maybe their could be a bit more information about the artist. however they have good links to twitter, instagram etc, so overall I think the website is looking good.

3) Encoded
Website: http://www.encodedmusic1.wix.com/encoded
By far I feel that this website has the best little unique touch to it. My favorite part of this website is the countdown clock until the album is released. This looks really professional and is such an easy thing to include, however looks great. I also really like the simplicity but yet again the effectiveness of the layout, and they website is easy to follow around to different pages. The website however is lacking merchandise which would give it that extra marks I feel and maybe putting some more up to date images of them shooting the music video.

4) Cosmo
Website: http://www.thycosmo.wix.com/cosmo
When this website is all finished I feel that it will look really effective. However at the moment there are quite a few sections in the website that are missing. An example of these are contact details like instagram, facebook etc. However there is a merchandise section which is strong and effective, as well as a unique gallery lay-out.

5) Alex Echo
Website: http://sarahmaerz5.wix.com/alexecho
The layout for this website is great with very easy access to all different pages on the website. I really like the home page with the sliding images going across your screen. There is a confusing part in the gallery as Alex Echo is a solo artist, however there are a few pictures with sam in them posing also, so this could lead people to be unsure who he is. However apart from this I think this website is really strong, ticking all the boxes including merchandise.

6) Hybrid Beauty
Website: http://hybridbeauty.wix.com/hybrid-beauty
Yet again I think that this website is simple yet effective. I really like the way the tour dates just appear on the screen. If anything there could be a few more pictures in the galley when they are actually out filming. Apart from this and maybe including an interview I feel that this is an effective website.

7) Alleyways
Website: http://alleywaysband.wix.com/wearealleyways
Just like the website of Grace Star I cant really find anything to fault about this website. It looks really professional,I really like everything about it. If I was to pick the real strength of it i would say the lay-out. There are loads of tour dates, with loads of information. I think that the merchandise looks really good and so professional yet again. This website and Grace Starr's website are contenders for the best website I feel.

GO PRO COMMITMENT

Today we went to Maldon to film the main bulk to our music video for James Coloures debut single 'My Face'.
One of the shots we wanted to see a locked sinking in the sea.
To make this happen it required a lot of commitment from one member of out team!
James got in his wetsuit and manned up to face the ice cold sea.

Day 4 filming

On Day 4 of filming we went to Maldon to add the main content to our final video.
Here are some shots of the location...

Video footage of Presentations

As part of the whole journey we are going on to promote a new up and coming music artist or band we has to present our ideas about or bands or artists to the class.
Here is video footage of these presentations taking place.

Planning of teaser trailer.

Food colouring and Milk Experiment

For our teaser trailer we have an idea of getting food colouring and placing it in milk to give a really eye-catching and effective effect. Another reason why we came up with this idea|, is we felt that it would be a really unique idea, which gives a wow factor to the trailer in comparison to some other teaser trailers that students across the UK would have made, As well as this it gives a mystery element to the music video as no-one knows what the music video will entitle.

Call Me Maybe Lip Sync Task

As I'm performing as James Couleur I've seen that in some of my lip sync tasks I haven't been up to the standards that i wished.
To improve I felt that I needed to keep on practicing so here is a lip sync task of 'call me maybe'.

Wake Me Up Lip Sync Task

Wake Me Up- Avicii
As well as lip syncing I need to work on my performance aspect of the song. Therefore we chose to a song from Avicii where there is some electronic music where I can show my personality and get that across on camera.
Here is the lip sync to this song...\

Someone Like You Lip Sync Task

Someone Like You
Yet again the more I practiced my lip syncing the better it would be for our final video. So here is a lip sync I took part in of Someone Like you.

Shooting- Weather Forecast

Weather Forecast
This is the weather forecast for Wednesday 12th November for Goldhanger in Maldon. We chose to film here as we wanted to take advantage of both the fields that are there aswell as the sea. The weather as you can see here is perfect for what we wanted. We want too capture some really good nature shots, and have the sun setting in the background allowing us to get the glistening image of the sun reflecting off the sea.

Day 3 of Filming

Day 3 we worked on the time lapse shots. Filming behind this green-screen has enabled up to edit on premier and have James Couleur looking like he is in an urban street.

Twitter Account

James Couleur Twitter Account

With social media being such a huge market now for advertising almost everything, we felt that setting up Twitter account would just help boost the amount of followers, fans that James Couleur gets.
The more people know about him the better, it involves information about the latest shots for the single My Face, information about the album, tour dates and more.

Instagram Acount

James Couleur Instagram Account

As part of boosting James Couleur image and getting his name across to everyone across the UK we set up an Instagram account for james couleur.
The account consists of photos of James couleur in the studio, him working on his album, shots from his photoshoot for example. Making sure people know his name.

Inspired Videos

COLDPLAY YELLOW

The reason that this music video is one of our inspirations because its a slow take which is only one shot. The one shot that we see here is Chris Martin walking to the camera and we want to involve that within our music video, for this reason its inspired our music video. Also you can see the back ground changing, and we want to film with different weather conditions so this also is another reason fro inspiration.

CALVIN HARRIS- SUMMER

At the very start of this video comes our inspiration. We plan on having James Couleur walking down a dusty baron pathway and this is what we see here.

Inspired Paint Video

AVICII'S LYRIC VIDEO- THE DAYS

This video aspires our video with the spray can linking in with the graffiti aspect and shots in our video and then towards the end of the video you see the slow motion shot of the paint being thrown onto the wall linking into our paint party footage.

FESTIVAL OF COLOURS

Here is exactly the shots we want for our our video, in here primarily you see go-pro shots and that's what we aim to do.

Day 2 filming

DAY 2 FILMING-PAINT PARTY
As part of our music video we are planning on having a paint themed party towards the end of the video. We feel that this will represent and portray a happier, more up beat part of James Couleurs single My Face.
Here are a few behind the scenes shots of the after mouth of the carnage!!

Day 1 Shoot

Day 1 Shooting
After we found out that the area we went to to run a recci shot wsperfect for us we decided not to waste any time and start shooting straight away.
Here are a few shots from behind the scenes of our first shoot...

Location Shots for My Face

Recci Shots
For part of our video we want a side angle Panning Shot of James Couleur walking past a set of walls with graffiti written on them. For this we needed to find an area with the suitable wall for us. Here are a few Recce Shots from our day put exploring to find a wall suitable.

This was perfect place for us to film, and this is where we decided to start filming our first day of shooting.

Group Availability

Time table of groups availability

As we are all different people in the group and live different life's and commitments on different days, we needed to find out when we would have the whole group free to film.
We made up a timetable to figure out these days where people are free.
